URMI HISTORY    ABOUT URMI

The saga of “URMI” goes back to three & half decades when a fledging company “BAJARANG BORING WORKS” was formed at BOTAD, in Gujarat State (India) for horizontal boring of existing water wells in Saurashtra region for increasing the yield. For the first time in India, this method was adopted in existing wells which used to go dry in summer months. The Pioneer of this technique was Late Shri Manjibhai R. Kava. Shri Manjibhai was born technocrat who indigenously developed & manufactured many innovative engineering machinery & equipments during his lifetime. Having succeeded in this venture of horizontal boring in all types of soil & rock, the farsighted visionary Late Shri Manjibhai concentrated his wits & manufactured big size Horizontal Auger Boring Machines which are now being used successfully for boring through Railway Tracks, Canals, Highways, earthen bunds, creeks and nalas etc.

Mr. S. M. Kava (son of Late Shri Manjibhai Kava) carried over this rich heritage in the new era of Trenchless Technology. An idealist with respect for tradition, he displayed attributes of commitment and dedication that transformed the fledging company into robust “URMI ENTERPRISE” in 1992.

In the present Industrial Landscape Urmi’s major activities include:

  • Utility pipeline laying under railway, highway, canal, and river etc by Trenchless Technology
  • Rock Excavation/Concrete Demolition without blasting, noise, and vibration
  • Manufacturing & Marketing of hi-tech construction equipments
  • Industrial Structure & Maintenance
  • Specialized Construction Projects & AMC of Plants, Residentials & Commercial Properties
